Port Authority La Spezia

La Spezia Port Authority manages the port activities and the maritime property area inside the Gulf of La Spezia. The Port of La Spezia is one of the most important container ports in the Med. In Italy it’s the second port in importance for direct call services and for serving the north Italian markets: this thanks to its technology, efficiency, quality of services and constant innovation.

The port today is involved and operates successfully in different commodities: container traffic, liquid & dry bulk and general cargoes as well. The port of La Spezia, thanks to a modern regassification plant managed by GNL Italia, imports every year liquid natural gas from north Africa. The terminal’s main aim is to serve the domestic Italian market.

In 2014 the port achieved a throughput of 15,7 million tons and a traffic of 1.303.017 TEUs. The port of La Spezia moves more than 35% of container traffic by rail, qualifying as the port with the highest percentage of intermodal transport on a national and European level.

Concerning the new TEN-T network, the port of La Spezia is a Core Port in the new TEN-T Core Network and it is included in the Corridor Scandinavian - Mediterranean. The Port Authority is very active in european projects related to transport, logistic and environmental sector. La Spezia Port Authority is the coordinator of WiderMoS, funded in the TEN-T MOS 2012 programme.

Port of Rijeka Authority

The port of Rijeka is the largest seaport in Croatia, second economic centre and third largest Croatian city. The history of this city and port reveals that, by its strategic position, it was always regarded as an important gateway to Central and Southeast Europe.<,/p>

Luka Koper d.d.

The Port of Koper is the only Slovenian international cargo port. It is a multi-purpose port where practically any kind of cargo is being handled and stored.

The Port of Koper is a transit oriented port. The main hinterland markets are represented by Slovenia, Austria, Italy, and Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia and others. In year 2014 almost 19 million tonnes of cargo were handled. Through a concession agreement the management of the port area has been given to the company Luka Koper, which is operating all the terminals at the Port of Koper.

Already in year 2014 the company has introduced the environment management system ISO 14001 which has been upgraded with the EMAS scheme in year 2010.

Trieste Port Authority

The Trieste Port Authority is a public entity that has the task of directing, programming, coordinating, controlling and promoting port operations and the other commercial and industrial activities carried out in the port by private operators. It has powers of regulation and ordinance. It carries out the development of port facilities and the maintenance of the shared parts within the port area. It operates in the sector of transport and logistics, promoting inter-modality.

The port offers services for all types of traffic: containers, RO-RO - Ferries, passengers (cruisers, ferries and fast vessels), agri-food produce (cereals, fruit, coffee and refrigerated products), miscellaneous goods, project cargoes, cements, mineral oils, bulk products, iron and steel products, oil products and by-products, industrial products, chemicals. Shipbuilding, ship maintenance and refitting are also available.

Port services are available day and night, 365 days a year and can be adapted to the individual customer’s needs. The commercial and industrial Port of Trieste benefits from special provisions set by the Paris Peace Treaty of 1947. In relation to the type of operations to be carried out, operators may opt for the most favorable Customs treatment, choosing between the Community Customs procedures and the Free Port regime. According to the special regulations, the Free Port area is considered outside the EU Customs territory.

In 2014 Trieste handled about 57 million tons (+1 %) and all activities of the Port were positive compared to 2013: container traffic has increased by + 10,34% in 2014, when 506.011 Teus were handled,; vehicles on ships and ferries / Ro-Ro have increased by 9,46 %, The most important item of merchandise for goods in transit is crude oil, 42,4 million tones, increased by 0,97 % from 2013 to 2014.
